i cannot  get pwe to open word documents. I have check desktop integration, unistalled and reinstalled integration. I have checked the add-ins , that is all good. I even changed loadbehavior to 3. I removed associations for word. I have literally tried every thing listed. office 365, pwe connect 10.0.3.280

      Hello William Nelson,

Have you checked the HKEY_CURRENT_USER Registry Hive as well (as the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Registry Hive)? You mentioned checking the Load Behavior on the Add-ins.

Here are some Keys to check for conflicting Add-in Load Behavior settings:

      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins

See if there are any PWOfficeAddIn.ConnectProxy_16 Subkeys. Try removing these, as there should be equivalents under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Registry Hive, with the proper Load Behavior setting.

      Hope that this helps

      Do you see Keys here?:

      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins

In addition to the PWOfficeAddIn.ConnectProxy_16 Subkey, you may also see the BSIPWOfficeAttr.AttrConnect.1 Subkey.

      Can you check this:

Does this File exist in the Folder specified here? I'm a bit confused by the lack of PWOfficeAddIn.ConnectProxy_16 Subkeys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Keys. From my experience and understanding, these Keys determine the Load Behavior (I have them and all Office Applications seem to work just fine).

On a somewhat related note, we did have issues with ProjectWise Explorer version 10.00.03.280 and Office Applications. If you opened a Word File (for example) from a Windows Folder and then went to open a Word File (Document) from ProjectWise Explorer (by double-clicking on it), you would be prompted to sign into a Datasource again. This issue was fixed in 10.00.04.434 (not sure about 10.00.03.3xx versions).
