    Hi,

Just recently I am unable to open any Microsoft Office files in ProjectWise, I get the error code 112173.

There are no user associations, only global.

I have run the PW in repair mode and nothing changed.

We constantly have this issue as well, the only fix I know of is to also go to the COM add ins in word or excel and reset the Projectwise Integrations.

      Hello bigroo,

This is a common "thing", likely due to Microsoft Updates. To fix:

      1. From the Microsoft Excel program, select File > Options.
      2. From the Excel Options window, click Add-ins.
      3. From the Manage dropdown (at the bottom), select Disabled Items and click Go.
      4. Select any ProjectWise items and choose Enable. Then, click Close.
      5. From the Manage dropdown (at the bottom), select COM Add-ins and click Go.
      6. Enable (check) the ProjectWise iDesktop Integration Add-in and click OK.
      7. Click OK to close the Excel Options window.
      8. Close the Microsoft Excel program.

The next time you double-click on an Excel Document, it should open without issue...for now, until this happens again.

There are no ProjectWise items either in the disabled items or COM add-ins.

      Hey bigroo,

Looks like the ProjectWise iDesktop Integration for Microsoft Office is not installed. Can you start the Change installation process until you get to the Select feature to install page. Then, expand ProjectWise Explorer and Tools. Do you see a ProjectWise Integration for Microsoft Office 365 or similar listed?
