Workflowing a DGN state to state is very slow using ProjectWise Explorer Client version 10.00.03.453

Workflowing a DGN drawing from from one workflow state to the next state is very slow using ProjectWise Explorer Client version 10.00.03.453.

It is taking about 30 seconds, where-as with ProjectWise Explorer Client version 08.11.11.590 it takes 2-3 seconds.  They use the same common ProjectWise Server version 10.00.03.140 in the backend.

Something is wrong with version 10.00.03.453.  Not sure if earlier 10.00.03.XXX versions are like that or not.

I'm trying to use that version as we are going to move to the latest MicroStation CE update, from the Select Series 10 version we are currently using. So ProjectWise Client version 10.00.03.453 is the latest version listed in the compatibility matrix for ProjectWise and MicroStation CE update 16.

    Can anyone help.  Thanks.

    Regards, Andrew Beer

      Hi Andrew,

We have done extensive testing to identify several performance issues with PW 04.434 and suspect similar problems with later versions. We have had to roll back. Bentley has been telling me we are the only customer complaining, but I see that is not the case.

      Hi Sujaan,

We are currently using PW Explorer client 10.00.03.271, which allows us to use MicroStation CE release 17 and our older ProjectWise Server version 10.00.03.140 in the backend.  It's OK but a couple of slight bugs that we have to work around, but not an issue really.  The work flowing is a little slower than it used to be, but not as bad as with PW Explorer client version 10.00.03.453.

We will eventually update our ProjectWise Server backend, then maybe client version 10.00.03.453 or later will work OK.

What PW server version are you using ?

      Cheers, Andrew

Server is 3.721 and did not notice much difference after that update. Bentley was able to verify the issue is related PW Client software specific to versions higher than 03.434 including 03.453. Our primary case of testing has been folder navigation, and we see longer times with folders that have PW Environments assigned.

That is interesting.  You say you're on Server version 3.721.  But it seems the latest ProjectWise Design Integration Server that can be downloaded from the Bentley downloads is 10.00.03.334.  Have you got a later version off Bentley's ?
