    WRE reverse revision history

    Hi Team.

We have a client requirement that requires the revision history in the reverse order than what it's currently set to.

This is what we have currently

From the above screenshot, you can see that _RV_REV_1 = D3 which is the latest revision.

We need the table to be in reverse order meaning the oldest revision should be listed last. Technically _RV_REV_1 should equal B.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

      Hey Marcus,

In my experience there is no easy way to do this. If you have different requirements for clients you need to have multiple complex Environments setup to change the display / re-order.

Using the method below we have setup multiple Environments. 1 Standard (default ProjectWise Shift Up approach) and 1 for Reverse Order

Change view order (basic, probably not what you are after)
First, If it's just for viewing in the Interface / Attribute window,  the easiest way would be to create/modify the interface to move Attribute fields it looks like it populates in reverse order. This wouldn't change the information populating to the correct rev field. _RV_REV_1 would still be D3 in your example, it would just be arranged to show at the top of the list.

Setup a new Environment with Reverse Order (harder, time consuming)
Reverse Order with Attributes and SELECTs to have the attributes populated and displayed in different fields:

      1. Clone your existing Environment. (If you still want to keep the current option for other projects)
      2. Create a new set of Title block attributes with a different prefix to store and display the reverse order ( _TB_REV_# for example).
This is needed for each title block attribute you have displayed. In your example 80 new attributes. (10 rows, 8 columns)
      3. Setup SQL SELECT statements triggering on _RV_REV_1 for EACH of the new _TB_XXX attributes.
Your WRE won't change. The _RV information is populated in the background and the SQL statements use the information to re-populate your _TB information any time _RV_REV_1 is triggered.
      4. Don't forget to add the extra bindings to your attribute tags/mappings if you want your drawings to pull the _TB instead of _RV.

If anyone has an easier way and proves me wrong I would be ecstatic. This is the only way we have been able to set it up.
