This is a ProjectWise issue. Your admins may have disabled Cancelable Queries, but honestly I've seen this Canceled dialog take forever to dismiss even with cancelable queries turned on. It should eventually…

What is the exact version no. (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation that you are using? Use key-in VERSION to see the version no. in the MicroStation Message Center, or Help→About MicroStation in the backstage.

See this blog that shows you how to obtain MicroStation's version number.

If you're using an additional product (e.g. ProjectWise, OpenXxx) let us know about that too!

This is a ProjectWise issue. Your admins may have disabled Cancelable Queries, but honestly I've seen this Canceled dialog take forever to dismiss even with cancelable queries turned on. It should eventually go away but it may take a few minutes.

Based on the icon set for the search you're doing a full text search. If you're actually searching for a filename or description instead of text inside a file set the search to just search Document and Folder Properties by clicking the magnifying icon then selecting the Document and Folder Properties option. Those searches are much faster.
