Rearranging sheets in Sheet Index checks out all files out in PW

I noticed a terrible behavior that started in Microstation 17.0 and has continued on into 17.1 & 17.2. When you have sheets already in a sheet index and you simply try to rearrange the order via drag & drop (only method I know of) it goes and checks out EVERY file that has a sheet in the sheet index from Projectwise. When I say EVERY, I mean every single one in the entire sheet index, in every folder. This is unworkable as we have many different disciplines managing their sheets in their respective folder in the sheet index. Moving one of MY sheets around in my folder should not check out any files, much less the entire projects! This never used to happen in Microstation 16, I could move sheets around all day and it didn't check out a single file, as we would want! Is anyone else experiencing this? Can anyone from Bentley comment? Is this a known issue and being fixed?

Ok, so the new ticket I submitted on this has resulted in a new Defect Report: 1073880. I do not understand how this issue remained in the last three versions of Microstation, but if you want this fixed…

Hopefully our voices will be heard in numbers

Yep... I was told it did not make it in there prior to the code lock, but should be in there for 2023.1. We shall see Fingers crossed

I was dealing with a Microstation support person so i assume that, but he may have been referring to PW.

This is extremely frustrating and sad that it is still not fixed. Can someone from Bentley please weigh in on when we can expect it to be fixed? The only solution is to use Microstation 16, which is now ~5 versions old… so this issue has existed for 5 versions now!

That list of bugs/issues resolved in 2023.1 is incredibly long. I don’t understand how so many things made it past their QC?
