    Projectwise/AutoCAD - Open/Insert Dialog Questions

    AutoCAD 2008/2009 - Projectwise V8i

    1. After hitting INSERT, or OPEN, is there a way to go your "last folder", or, save a "favorites" list of folders you are currently working in?

    2. After hitting OPEN, is there a way to open more that ONE drawing at a time? (this one is especially frustrating, when I want to checkout and work on multiple dwgs)

    3. Is there a history of folders visited anywhere in the OPEN/INSERT dialog box of projectwise?

Basically, since moving to Projectwise, I am finding that my time is spent watching the OPEN dialog box refresh, then I have to navigate my way to the folder I need, because there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to where it starts.

There is a user setting for "Last used folder", I think it affects the Open box separate from PWE.  But It should remember the last placed you opened a file when it is turned on.  It might be easier to open multiple files through PWE instead of File/Open.  However, you need to make sure that your AutoCAD is set to not hold it's references locked as you may find some files being "checked out" from ProjectWise and opened Read-Only in AutoCAD.

I have the same problem as powerdog above in #1.

Each time I use the open dialog in AutoCAD (to add a reference, open a file, etc), I'm taken back to a folder that I've used exactly one time, months ago.

I've reinstalled Projectwise, and deleted my working directory, but that one file location has managed to make itself perrmanent.

I work entirely in ACAD2010, as does most of our team, but we have a few Microstation team members, so we're collaborating via Projectwise (V81 SS1).

I get the feeling that this is a setting that MicroStation users can modify, but with just Projectwise Explorer, I can't seem to find any preference that lets me modify what folder Open defaults to.

try using the most recently used drop down to go to one of the folders you opened from.  That may be a work around.
