Unable to handle multiple sheet drawings .. ?!

    Hi There!

I was just wondering when it would be possible to handle multiple title blocks in dgn files with multible sheets?

It is common to have the same title block  tag set in several sheets but as far as I know, ProjectWIse can only handle one (or all as it was one).

This would of cause require one unique id for each sheet (besides of the document id) and a corrosponding atrribute page for each sheet, but it would be a great improvement! (No need for more than one attribute page in the dialog - instead there should be "Next sheet"- /  "Previous sheet"- buttons in that!)

Sheet names could be added to the tag name in ProjectWise so they would maintain unique for ProjectWise and the db, eg.: SHEET1|drwdate, SHEET2|drwdate, ...

Please let me know if aboe is all rubbish an nonsense to you guys .. :)

I would also like to see this functionality included with ProjectWise. Requested it eight years ago, and our Bentley rep documented the solution. Looked like it was going to be incorporated but then..…

It should be a TR - 7 years 12,464 views, 26 replies, no solution? Any file can have multiple attribute "sheets". This concept has been in ProjectWise since forever. But we have never had a way to utilize…

I believe this is a significant oversight by Bentley. Multiple models have been part of the dgn file format since V8 and that's a long time. InRoads has been generating multiple cross-section sheets in…

In ProjectWise Administrator you define the bindings for the Tag Set ( or Block ).  These binding are used to fill in the Tags (or Attributes) no matter how many times they are inserted in a drawing.  So, If you setup your environment to hold two or more sets of data, and bind them to tags in your tag set, then you can have both sheets in one drawing and have it updated automatically.   But the same tag placed more than once on a drawing will contain the same information everywhere it is placed.

We are often having 20 sheets or more in each plotfile. As there is about 30 or more tags in each title block (depending on the number og revision lines which varies), I would need to find space for over 600 titleblock text fields in the attribute dialog. Even if I used fontsize 6px or smaller, that would not make room enough... :)

Besides, (it is not very importent, but...) if you are using the same TagSet on several sheets in same file, I think only on of them will update the database from the titleblock when using the update key-in... ?!
