Unable to handle multiple sheet drawings .. ?!

    Hi There!

I was just wondering when it would be possible to handle multiple title blocks in dgn files with multible sheets?

It is common to have the same title block  tag set in several sheets but as far as I know, ProjectWIse can only handle one (or all as it was one).

This would of cause require one unique id for each sheet (besides of the document id) and a corrosponding atrribute page for each sheet, but it would be a great improvement! (No need for more than one attribute page in the dialog - instead there should be "Next sheet"- /  "Previous sheet"- buttons in that!)

Sheet names could be added to the tag name in ProjectWise so they would maintain unique for ProjectWise and the db, eg.: SHEET1|drwdate, SHEET2|drwdate, ...

Please let me know if aboe is all rubbish an nonsense to you guys .. :)

I would also like to see this functionality included with ProjectWise. Requested it eight years ago, and our Bentley rep documented the solution. Looked like it was going to be incorporated but then..…

I believe this is a significant oversight by Bentley. Multiple models have been part of the dgn file format since V8 and that's a long time. InRoads has been generating multiple cross-section sheets in…

Since a ProjectWise document can have multiple "attribute sheets" with differing data in each (or to use Mikkel's terminology, multiple title blocks), and a CAD file attached to such a document can have multiple "sheets", I can see the logic in what is being requested - binding the data of a specific PW Attribute sheet to a specific sheet within a file. And allow it to be done for each sheet (attribute sheet and file sheet), but all using the same tag set binding.

Maybe this needs to be submitted as a CR?

Any file can have multiple attribute "sheets". This concept has been in ProjectWise since forever. But we have never had a way to utilize the data. Where is the logic in that?

The logic of the request is simple – the binding of the data stays the same. Sheet models have an integer attribute that can corresponds to a specific PW Attribute sheet.

A value of 0 equals one PW Attribute sheet per file. A value of 1 – infinity equals the PW Attribute sheet attached to each sheet model. Model properties are check and title block integration updates the values accordingly.
