Updating Infrastructure to 64-Bit: All or nothing?

We are starting plans to upgrade from V8 XM to V8i.  The current environment is on 32-bit servers, but this may be a good point for us to migrate to 64-bit servers.

Does the whole environment have to move to 64-bit at the same time?

In particular, we have 2 data file servers (32-bit) running PW Caching Server.  Can we upgrade those Caching servers to the 32-bit version of V8i SS3, and upgrade the Integration and Publishing servers to the same 64-bit version?

    Thanks.

      Steve,

With SELECTseries 3 there is only one install for the various ProjectWise server modules and that will work with either 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems.  Looking forward  beyond SELECTseries 3 we are looking at only supporting 64-bit operating systems for PW Integration Server and Web Server, but continue to support both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems for caching and gateway servers since those tend to be installed on older hardware.

      John
