Release of Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit add-in for ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 4)

Today we are releasing support for Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit for ProjectWise.  This is being delivered as an “add-in” that can be installed on top of existing ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4) installations. Below I have included the download description from SELECT Downloads with some additional information.

Download Description:

ProjectWise is software for connecting people and information across distributed teams and is used by architects and engineers to manage, find, and share CAD and geospatial content, project data, and Office documents. ProjectWise Integration Server is an enterprise-level engineering content management solution.

The ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 4) Integration Module for Office 2010 64-bit download contains the installation package needed to integrate Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit with ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4). The ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 4) Integration Module for Office 2010 64-bit provides the following capabilities:

  • ProjectWise integration support for 64-bit Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Users can expect the same level of ProjectWise integration with 64-bit Office 2010 applications as they had with 32-bit Office 2010 applications.
  • This integration module does not provide integration with 64-bit Microsoft Visio 2010 or 64-bit Microsoft Project 2010.

Notes:

  • ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4) is required for installation and usage of this module. No additional license beyond a ProjectWise Passport is required.
  • This integration module includes updated Attribute Exchange sample files which should be used instead of those delivered with ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 4). (Using the older sample files with 64-bit Office 2010 may result in errors.) Note that the updated sample files are installed to the 64-bit location: C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProjectWise\Samples\.
  • If you need to modify your installation of ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4) for some reason after you instal this 64-bit Office 2010 integration module, you will notice that the  Microsoft Office integration option in the ProjectWise Explorer installer will be turned off. This is correct and should not be changed.
  • In integrated 64-bit Outlook 2010, the Send To > Mail Recipient As Link command is not working correctly. In Windows 7, the link comes out as plain text, and in Windows Vista, it does not work at all (you get an error). The issue could not be addressed in this integration module and requires an updated ProjectWise Explorer client. Please contact Bentley Support for information about how to obtain an updated version of ProjectWise Explorer.
  • No additional help document is provided with this integration module; you can continue to use the ProjectWise Explorer help document delivered with ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4).
