Sharepoint Configuration for Projectwise Web Parts

Let me start off by saying I am a noob when it comes to sharepoint and I do not know much about it.

I am starting to setup a server with Projectwise SS4 web components with Sharepoint integration. I have been searching the internet now for a hour or two now and no where can I find what must be done to sharepoint in order to integrate sharepoint.

What I have is a fresh setup of Sharepoint 2010 and when I get ready to install Projectwise the Sharepoint integration option has a nice red X over it. From the setup instructions instruct that this option should come on automatically when sharepoint is installed and configured correctly. But as i said before no where in instructions or web can i find what must be done to sharepoint.

Anyone out there have a Sharepoint Configuration check list or something, specifically just the sharepoint side of things.

It sounds like you are trying to install the SharePoint Search integration?  Verify you have the correct version of Sharepoint installed, including updates:

(from page 13-3 of the PW Implementation guide)

      7. To use ProjectWise Web Server’s new SharePoint search integration

feature, you must use either SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint Search

Server 2010 Express, along with the latest updates for each.

SharePoint Search Server 2010 Express includes SharePoint

Foundation 2010. If you do not need the SharePoint search

integration feature, you can use SharePoint Foundation 2010 instead

of SharePoint Search Server 2010 Express.

Yes I have Sharepoint 2010 SP 1 installed and updated. But still when I go to setup the Projectwise web components through the setup files , i get to the Custom Setup screen and "Sharepoint search intergration" has a red X over it. it is my understanding that this should be on by default if it is setup and configured correctly . According to the statement below from page 13-7 of the implementation Guide

"Assuming you have already installed and configured the required SharePoint version, the SharePoint search integration option is enabled by default. The feature will be off by default if SharePoint is not installed, or if the wrong SharePoint version is installed, or if SharePoint search is not properly configured."

So I am Assuming that Sharepoint Search is not properly configured. What configuration needs to be done to Sharepoint? What Sharepoint service will i need to configure? That is what I need to know.

Ok, that sounds like the correct version, there shouldn't be more configuration needed.  Did you try manually enabling the option?  If you need more help, it might be best to contact us in Technical Support so we can look a little more in depth.
