    Good Morning,

I am trying to find a way to export a document and all its versions. I have tried the usual ways but i only get the newest version. Does anyone have a way to do this? I have searched and found nothing on the subject. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried using the excel based export/import tool, that has an option to copy out the version files.

It no longer requires a license and is provided with the PW client installs: communities.bentley.com/.../79091.aspx

I have tried it and retried it. I now see why it's free. From what i saw it doesn't allow you to export versions only make them on import. It also doesn't seem to export the documents found by a search.  If anyone has wasted their time used the export utility to do this, please post any tips or how-to's you may have, i would love to utilize it. Our current work around takes too long and is very cumbersome. Any other thoughts/suggestions? Maybe i missed some instruction on the tool to make it do what i want?

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, I'm referring to the Excel Export/Import tool (installed separately from PW Explorer, but adds additional options- Export menu-export list to excel), it is different than the export wizard (under tools in Windows menu.)  I tested and verified that the excel based tool does export the versions:

And as far as the results of a search, you would run the search, select all the files and go to Export-Add to Export List.  Then selecting Export-Export to Excel, will export the files you had selected

So close. That does export versions and works well. I can't seem to get it to export just the files i selected. Is there a way to tell that wizard only the selected files? Or maybe i can find that excel export list and point the wizard at it? So close, hopefully i'm just missing one step. When i get to the point of picking files it shows everything not just those i tagged. Thanks for your help thus far.

I'm not sure I follow, are you looking to export only specific versions of one document?  If so, then no, you cannot.  If you are having trouble getting the correct documents exported, try clearing the export list and start over.

The second, i am trying to export just the selected docs. I tried as suggested but same result. Its like it doesn't see that list. I am doing a re-install, hopefully that will resolve the issue, as it appears this will do what i want if it works.

UPDATE: Re-install did not change the outcome.

Can you explain the steps you are taking, and what it is that isn't working?  If I undertstand correctly, the wizard isn't acknologing the files you added to the export list?  Are you running the wizard through the start menu, or through export-export list to excel?
