    Favourites (folder/file links)

    Hi

Is there any IE/Windows Explorer similar style that users can have quick ProjectWise folder/file favourites toolbar buttons for ProjectWise Explorer interface and MicroStation File Open and Reference attachment dialogs?

I know Custom Folders can do this but button click in dialog box is more preferable.

    Thanks,

I have seen people drag folders to their desktop, creating a shortcut which works evern if Projectwise is open.  However, those do not set an open dialog to a specifc path.

Don't forget about the built in navigation aids.  You can use the "arrow" keys to go back and forth between selections as well as use the drop down lists in the "Navigation tool" as well as the drop down list in the "Path tool".  The ProjectWise Administrator can control how many items can appear in the drop down list, at least for the Path tool.

Otherwise, I think you would have to create a customization.

      Hi DanG,

Out of the box solution is for to create links via custom folders. The option above what Dan W suggested is also is a great option. I  have seen a user create a Bookmark like customization outside of ProjectWise custom folder and just drag and drop links to this pop window. So anytime users clicks on a link it takes them to the file or folders.

In MicroStation when integrated with ProjectWise, reference dialog does not have any folder histories user can quickly select and also there is no quick button just to select current opened dgn ProjectWise folder.  See attached.  This feature has been missing a long while and there is no sign of it coming.
