    Rules Engine

I am using PW Rules engine with Revit 2013. I notice when i am using worksets, Revit creates a number of .dat files and stores then with the central file within PW. The problem I am experiencing is when it comes to pushing the master file through the workflow from WIP to Shared. PW runs a condition check on any files refenced to the master file to check the state of those references. This is functionality you would expect, however if you attempt to progress the Revit .dat files through the workflow from WIP to Shared, the Change State menu oprion is greyed out and as such unable to progress this file and as such impossible to progress the master .rvt file to a Shared state.

      Gavin,

Not sure if is still possible in SS4, but when using SS2 (and DAM) you were able to manually overwrite the attribute value which was checked (change to APPROVED), this would then allow the master file to progress to Shared.  Is it possible to have the .dat files located in a seperate folder, that way you could treat the files differently in terms of workflow and look to have the checked attribute set to APPROVED (perhaps a different environment)?  I know you can do this with applications such as REBAR (.RGB files) but you have more control over their configuration.

      Paul

Unfortunately not, when i go to move the .dat files to a seperate folder without an environment, I recieve an error message

      "Cannot transfer documents.

Satellite document cannot be moved without its master"
