    Hey guys,

    Since there is no Get-PWFolderBySearch command how would you suggest to extract system info from a folder object.

    I need to create a report of all projects created since a specific date and export it out to an excel spreadsheet.  [Mind you it's because we can't select folders and use Copy List To... :(  ]

    $centproj = Get-PWRichProjects -FolderPath 'Projects\1_Central\2017~2018\'

    foreach($project in $centproj)

    {

    Select-Object -Property "something to help me out to filter out the projects later than?"

    }

    Or any other way?

    Thanks in advance!

    Elahe

      the group responsible for PWPS_DAB is very responsive to any requests. I don't think they pay a lot more attention to my requests than others. I think if they see my requests being beneficial to a lot…

      Once this property is added, it will be included with all ProjectWise Folder Objects.

      The CreateDateTime and UpdateDateTime have been added to the ProjectWise Folder object properties in PWPS_DAB build 1.5.13.0 . Using the -Slow switch parameter is NOT required.

      get-pwrichprojects only gets information about the folders that have been upgraded into Projects (or Working Areas in the latest versions of PW Explorer).

      Theoretically you would get the pw-folders command for regular folders, however that doesn't return any of the date information.

      Bentley:

      Can we get the folder objects updated to include (perhaps only when using the -Slow option?):

      • Create Date
      • Create by
      • Update Date
      • Update by
      • Owner

      Thanks Kevin, I was told that you are a heavy PW PS user. How is Bentley responses to your development requests?

      the group responsible for PWPS_DAB is very responsive to any requests. I don't think they pay a lot more attention to my requests than others. I think if they see my requests being beneficial to a lot of people it'll get added sooner than something they perceive as being mostly beneficial just to me. Then you have to add in the difficulty of the request, will it break existing solutions, etc...

      This request is mainly adding some new properties that are already in the tables they have to use to look up the data, plus a benefit of powershell is adding new properties to an object very rarely breaks existing code, so I'm pretty hopeful this one makes it in the next release.

      Having a use case or story for a request is a key item. You've got a good one in explaining you're trying to fill in a hold missing in ProjectWise Explorer which doesn't support folders in the Export to List functionality.

      Now assuming they aren't all on vacation for the summer I'm hoping for a week or two for this. Fingers crossed.

      That is so good to hear. Yes I think there is a good case here and I also know fixing up PW shortcomings through PWPS is way quicker and more practical than waiting for next application release.

      Thanks for backing up my request Slight smile

      Actually maybe we should request for Get-PWFolderBySearch as well???
