How to set Datasource security for the root / top folder ?

    Hello,

I need to change 250+ datasource parameters for the security of the root folder.

Manually, I go to pw administrator, select my project/datasource, right-click Properties, then edit 'folder security' and 'document security'

Can i do it with powershell ?

I know Update-PWFolderSecurity but it seems to be for subfolders

Is it with Set-PWDatasourceSetting  ? Does some know the options for document security and folder security ?

    thanks

    Ludovick

The Update-PWFolderSecurity should do what you need. Ensure you are passing the parent folder object.  If you need any assistance feel free to contact me at brian.flaherty@bentley.com.

After receiving some clarification from Ludovick, he would like to set the datasource level access control. Below is my response. If you feel you would benefit from this capability, let us know.  We can always add new cmdlets. Slight smile    We are up to 484.

      The following was my response:

"Understood. We do not have any cmdlets for manipulating the datasource level access control.  It seems to me that would be something done only occasionally and can easily be accomplished via the ProjectWise Administrator.

I am going to post this response in the Bentley Communities site.  If other users feel they could benefit from having the ability to configure the datasource level access control, then we could potentially add some cmdlets."
