    Archive logging

    Stephen Herrick
Offline Stephen Herrick over 2 years ago

    All,

i am using cmdlets Export-PWDocumentsToArchive and Import-PWDocumentsFromArchive. i have done quite a few projects with little success that the number of files match

before i run the export, i use ProjectWise explorer, and get a snapshot of the work are Statistics, only noting the number of files

once the archive is then imported to my PW archive datasouirce I do then again use statistics, rarely though do the total of files match

is there logging i can do to see what files are missing

    TIA

    Stephen

Hey Stephen, you may want to consider using the Get-PWDocumentsBySearch for the project or Work Area you are exporting and importing rather than the number from the statistics.  Also, are there certain types of files consistently failing?  Flatsets?

You can also try redirecting all output to a log file.  Example:   Export-PWDocumentsToArchive  >> c:\temp\Export.log

Thank you Brian, i will try to do the log, but for your other question, it has only been the files with the "odd" Russian characters

Ok. So, it's related to your other post.
