How to get the list of parent folders in a data source

I want to get the list of parent folders in ProjectWise data source using powershell

Is there a way to extract them using powershell?

By parent folders do you mean the top level folders? If so you can use 
 $topFolders = Get-PWFoldersImmediateChildren -Root

 The preferred method would be to use Kevin's solution. 
 Bear in mind that the Get-PWFoldersImmediateChildren takes in account access control. 
 Using the Select-PWSWL method is faster if there are many top-level folders. You will get a list of ALL folders without any access control. However, as soon as you use a Get-Folder type command, the access control will come into play. For example: 
 foreach ($row in $dtTopFolders) { 
 $folder = Get-PwFolders -FolderPath $row.o_projectname 
 } 
 will not find a given top level folder if the user has no access. 
 So, depending on your needs, either will work.
