Projectwise: How to export a list of files being used as reference in Microstation?

    Hello everyone!

I'm looking for a way of coming up with a list of all files being referenced by files on a certain directory (and it's subdirectories).

To illustrate: say I have a folder in PW containing several subfolders which contain several Microstation (DGN) files. Most of these DGN files contain references from other files in separate directories. Is there a way of obtaining a list of all these files that are being referenced?

I'm using Microstation CONNECT and Projectwise explorer 10

    Thanks a lot

    Best regards

      Federico,

Have you considered using PWPS_DAB?  You can find more information about it in the ProjectWise PowerShell Extensions Forum.

Here's what is available related to reference files:

You might take a look at this approach:

      Get-PWReferenceReportForFolder -FolderPath 'dww\Test Folder 03' -OutputFilePath 'c:\temp\ReferencesTestFolder03.xlsx'

And here's peek at the output file:

      Dear Dan,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I do not have access to PW Power Shell Extensions. Is there another way of achieveng my goal or even circumventing this limitation?

      Best regards

I was about to reply with "not that I am aware of", but then I remembered "Dave's Reports" which is included in MostOfDavesTools.

I don't know what each of those reports actually produce, but it is probably worth a look.

You can find the installer for MostOfDavesTools here:

      https://pwstorageazure.blob.core.windows.net/public/MostOfDavesTools.zip

Note that MostOfDavesTools is available with the same disclaimer as for PWPS_DAB:

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This set of tools is not covered under your SELECT Agreement and is not supported via your contractual support channels. Support is only available from the community of users via the BE Communities site.

Perhaps someone else has found some other way to get the information that you want?
