PW location of original PDF used to create dot-patterned PDF

If  a dot-patterned PDF file is marked up but doesn't process, returning a "ProjectWise Insufficient Privileges Error" message, I believe that indicates that the original PDF (or folder) in ProjectWise is not set up to give that user write access. How can someone tell where the original PDF is located in order to fix this if they only know where the dot-patterned PDF file resides?

Stephanie, there is not a straightforward way to do this at the moment but this what you can do:

      1.       Locate the pattern address of the pdf file and take note.

      2.       Close Dynamic Plot Sync.

      3.       Go to Explorer.

      4.       Locate C:\Users\LoggedInUserName\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\ProjectWise Dynamic Plot Sync

      5.       Match the pattern address noted down with the first part of the filename.

      6.       On finding a match, open the file in IE or notepad [Do not edit the file].

      7.       Locate “DocumentMoniker”\”DocumentGuid”. The value should give you either the url or the GUID.

      Another way:

      1.       In Dynamic Plot Sync, select the markup you are interested in and export it.

      2.       Open the exported dpmark file using winzip.

      3.       Drill down until you find the xml file [lowest node].

      4.       Open the xml file.

      5.       Locate “DocumentMoniker”\”DocumentGuid”. The value should give you either the url or the GUID.

I have filed Enhancement 112675 requesting a better method.
