Saved views allow users to easily jump to points of interest in the model. A saved view remembers the camera location and orientation along with the categories and models that have been set to display. Saved views can be pre-published in the iModel or created in iTwin Design Review.
The Saved View tab gives you the ability to apply views as well as to create new views that can be used later. Views display as thumbnails sorted alphabetically by group. You can filter the list by selecting the search icon and using the search bar that displays.
To capture the active view to recall in the future or share with others, first setup the view as you want it to be saved. This includes orienting the camera, ensuring the elements you want displayed and any sections you want applied are set. Next open the Saved View dialog from the status bar and select the "Create a new saved view" button. You will be prompted to provide a name for your saved view and that's it. Now your saved view is ready to be used.
Note: The more actions button to update, share or delete a saved view will only appear for views you have created.
Applying or opening a saved view is very simple. Just open the Saved View dialog and select the saved view you want to apply, if you have a very long list of saved views then you can use the search bar to filter the list by typing in part or all the name of a saved view. The view will update and appear like it did when the saved view was created.
By default when you create a saved view they will only be visible to you. If you want to make the saved view available for others on the project team then you need to share the view. To share a view click on the more actions button "..." next to the saved view you want to share. From the context menu select the "Share" option. The shared saved view will now appear for others in the Saved View dialog.
