What happened to my document and search wizards?

      Product(s): ProjectWise Explorer Client
      Version(s): 08.11.11.111
      Area:  Document Creation
Original Author: Dana Guthrie, Bentley Technical Support Group

What happened to my document and search wizards?

    Background

When I drag and drop a file into ProjectWise I used to get the option to use “No Wizard” or the “Advanced Wizard”. This dialog no longer displays

When I click on the search icon I used to get the option to choose the "Search Form" or "Search Builder". This dialog no longer displays

    Explanation

The reason the Document Creation Select a Wizard Dialog and the Select Search Definition Dialog does not appear, is that at some point you may have checked the option to “Make this wizard the Default’.

These two wizards are controlled by the Wizard Manager

    Steps to Accomplish

Option 1: Use the Tools \ Wizard Manager to clear the default setting

    1. In ProjectWise Explorer, go to Tools, Wizard Manager.

    2. For document creation, Select the ‘Document Creation’ tab then click the “Clear Default” button.

    3. For Searching, Select the ‘Search Definition’ tab then click the “Clear Default” button.

    4. Clearing the default will bring back the dialog that allows you to choose your wizard when either doing a Search or Creating a Document.
