To fix the issue where PW server components are not able to get a license, when the configured SELECT Server has a valid license.
When first installing ProjectWise Integration Server, Caching Server or Web Server, you must run the installer with the "run as administrator" option in Windows 2008 to verify the licensing information is entered correctly. Occationally, this step is not done, and PW is unable to get a license. A sign of this issue, is when running the licensetool.exe under tools-options, at the bottom of the Window it states- Settings stored for: Current User Only, as opposed to: All Users of this Machine, which is what we need.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bentley registry node, then delete the Licensing registry key and all its subkeys.
Close the Registry Editor.
Launch the Product Activation Wizard using the Run as Administrator option, then reenter your SELECT Server activation information. The Product Activation Wizard ( ActivationWizard.exe ) is located by default in the following location, depending on your application:
ProjectWise Integration Server
ProjectWise Caching Server
ProjectWise Web Server and Web View Server
