warning File [-WS_PWEXPLOER=1] does not exist

      Product(s): ProjectWise V8 XM Edition
      Version(s): 08.09.04.89
      Area:  Idesktop integration
Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group

    Problem

Warning "File [-WS_PWEXPLOER=1] does not exist"
As the drawing opens in MicroStation receive the following warning "File [-WS_PWEXPLOER=1] does not exist" Need to answer ok to enter Microstation. This is a new install, after completely removing ProjectWise, MicroStation, Irasb and ProjectWise Organizer.

    Solution

Check the user program associations in ProjectWise:

Launch ProjectWise and log in as the user.  Go to tools \ associations \ programs.  Change the 'select an association view' to 'User associations'.  Expand Microstation in the list, and then expand open.  If there is an association list, right click on it and disassociate it. Do the same for view, and redline.  Then click okay.  Close out of ProjectWise then reopen it. Try to recreate the problem.
Ideally you want the user to use the global association., but if that does not work then You could try right clicking a dgn and choosing open with then navigate to ustation.  If you check the box to 'always use this program' it will essentially set a user association.

Customer had two versions of Microstation installed and after choosing the correct one with the open with, the problem was resolved.
