How will Updating Adobe Reader from 8.0 to 8.1.2 or upgrading the Adobe Reader version 8.0 to 9.0 affect my program associations?
Security patches for adobe reader do not change path of the installed software (http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb08-15.html). You do not need to change the association in ProjectWise.
If you want to remove one version and install the a new version:• Remove Adobe Reader 6.x (Windows XP and 2000)http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=327675• Manually remove Adobe Reader (8.x on Windows)http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400769Multiple version of Adobe Reader can be installed on a client’s machine. If you change the version of adobe reader from 8.0 to 9.0 or have installed both version on the same machine. then you will need to change the path to the version you would like ProjectWise to use. A new version installation of Adobe Reader does change paths (i.e. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0 & C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0)• In ProjectWise admin click on Applications for Acrobat PDF right click and select Properties Select the action TAB for the Open action select the version of Acrobat Reader you would like to use & the same thing for View.)
