Airport Yerevan - by Trimo

Project

The project of construction of a passenger’s terminal at the international airport Yerevan, Armenia is a building project. This project has been actually going on since September 2005, and is the project for the known investor and according to its requirements. The construction of the passenger’s terminal comprises designing, manufacturing, delivery and assembly of approx. 1000 tonnes of steel structure, including roof and façade panels and auxiliary objects. The ground plan of main structure is of dimensions 130 m x 44 m.

Since the investor comes from Argentina, and the project is performed in Armenia, the project is very demanding and it has special characteristics. For this reason, it was very important, that we well prepared the documentation and analysed the risks.

Also the designing was very demanding, since the static calculation was made according to the American standards, and we had to adjust these standards with the European ones. An extra challenge was also the railway transportation, which took almost a month to the construction site. At the assembly, the troubles are mainly in connection with the out-of-date local equipment, and different habits of the local people.
