PRODUCING 2D REBAR DRAWINGS FROM PROCONCRETE 3D MODEL

Hello Everyone,

Please, could anyone kindly assist with helpful information on how, I can produce my 2D rebar drawing from a 3D ProConcrete model produced with ProStructure (running on AutoCAD application).

This is because I have done all I could, but yet can not reproduce the 2D symbolic rebar drawings.

I will appreciate a video link or PDF documentation that depicts the process. Or is there no ProConcrete Manual or detailer's guide which one could use?

Also, I observed that the 2D (not rebar) drawing I tried producing using the 2D Detail Centre tool, indicates a discontinuity sign for my structural elements whenever I tried previewing them in the Detail Centre dialog box. What is the solution on this please?

Attached is my simple ProConcrete 3D model.

  • Hi Israel,

Based from the information that you have provided you are using ProStructures on top of AutoCAD. The previous link that we have sent you are for the PowerProStructures versions. The recommended workflow is using the dynamic views which is not available within the current version that you are using. Is there any chance that you can use Power Prostructures to obtain the full capability of 2D file creation for ProConcrete?

I suggest that you give us a call at our Support hotline to discuss your available options.

  • Hello Roger,

I appreciate your response and suggestions. I will get back to you on the possibility of using Power Prostuctures.
Should I conclude it is practically impossible to produce quality 2D drawings with symbolic Rebar and concrete profile using ProConcrete on AutoCAD platform?

What if one get the asa. ProRebar add-on installed, will that not be useful?
Also, can I gain access to the ProStructure Bentley's manual for ProConcrete and ProSteel (running on AutoCAD application)?

    Regards,

    Israel
  • Hi Israel,

It is possible but not with the use of the Detail Center, are you familiar with Model space and Paper space? I am thinking it could be a possible work around.

Within AutoCAD you do have an option to create a layout that you can X-REF your drawing boarder and then by using paper space you can create a 2D files while toggling between paper space and model space to add dimensions and editing. That is almost the equivalent of the procedure of what we have in Power ProStructures.

Since for now there is a limitation within ProConcrete on top of AutoCAD to display all the elements, we do suggest to use the Power Prostructures version.

If you have an add on that is only available for ProStructures AutoCAD version then the procedure I have mentioned above might be the possible solution. Please note that I am just seeing it as a possible solution but not 100 percent sure it will meet your expectations. It is not our recommended procedure I am only thinking of it as a possible solution.

With regards to the manual, the installation folder comes with the help file. C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures\V8i_S6\AutoCAD 2015\Localised\English\Help
