I'm using ProStructures Connect Edition Update 4.
I'm using the Lap/Splice Rebar.
However I'm having trouble trying to create lap splice at the other end of my rebar set.
I want to mimick the top view and do the same for the bars at the bottom view on the alternating bars.
Tried using the stagger lap but unclear what the number you input refers to.
I did review the WIKI on lap/splice.
Do I have to do them individually?
Any help is appreciated.
Hi Nicole, Thanks for posting your query over the Bentley Communities Forum. In response to this issue, we were testing the Rebar Lap / Splice on the file that you had last sent us. Please allow us some time for investigating on that. In the mean time, if you require, you can give in a custom stock length value in the Pick Rebar tab as shown in the picture below - After this, set up the Lap dimensions in the Lap Method tab. And lastly, in the Generate Lap tab, check on the Staggered Laps options with the dimension you require and click on the button just below that, this will automatically generate laps in your model based on the stock length data that you had provided previously in the Pick Rebar tab of the Create Rebar Lap Splice dialog.
For now, this should help you achieve what you are looking for. However, I will get back to you shortly on how to create the Laps by a line or points method having staggered laps. Thanks for your cooperation. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Thks Alistair.
Still unclear of what the stagger laps dimension is representing or taken from.
I tried using the custom stock length and inputted 10.00 m (10000).
However I did not get rebar lengths of 10 m.
I want a length of 10 m , the lap length 1.08 m.(which I inputted) My total length of bar 12.92, so the other length would work out to 4 m
To achieve this I had to place a line 3.460 from end of bar across all this rebar set. This line represented the centre of lap, then used the center on lap method to get this.
If I could input that custom stock length along with lap length and alternating that would be great.
