After placing an element into the model, I can double click it to lunch the below screen and change the name of the element under the partlist data. (See below for the F-1 footer)
In the simple example below, I have positioned two F-1 footers with columns but one is at elevation 0'-0" and the other is at -2'-0".
I need to label the footer and elevation when generating the 2D drawing from the model. My thoughts are that I would use the "Place Note" or "Place Label" tool and create the note/label using the "Text Favorite Manager" tool.
Can someone kindly put an example together of how to label the footer with the name shown in the Partlist Data and the "Z" coordinates? I get this questions all the time about how to accomplish this, but do not have a good answer for the users. If trying to use the Place Note or Label is not the best tool for doing this, please provide an example using the proper tool.
Thanks and look forward to hearing back from the group.

Hi Travis, Thanks for posting your query over the Bentley Communities Forum. We will check for your query and revert soon. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Just checking to see if you had a chance to review yet. Let me know if you have any addition question.
Hi Travis, As you have conveyed, you need to display the name of the concrete element & the elevation of that in the Note. Currently, we do not have an option to automatically retrieve the elevation data in the Place Notes tool. Thus we recommend you to adopt the below workflow - 1) Add the name of the concrete element in the Name section and manually enter the elevation data in the Note 1 of the PS Properties of that element. 2) Then you need to add a new favorite with the *Field Type - Element Properties* and *Field Sub Type - ProSteel3D Element* and select the Name & Note 1 as data fields. 3) You can then use this by inserting the newly created favorite, when in the Text Editor while Placing Notes Finally, in the drawing model, you can then place the notes with the Name and Elevation as the data to be displayed. I believe this will resolve your issue. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Do you know if there is an enhancement request in your system for reading the elevation automatically off the Z-axis? Would be a good feature to have when modeling buildings at the time of creating the 2D drawing for Approval.
Hi Travis, We recommend you to log in a Service Request for the same so that we can get this formally registered in our system and then take this up with priority. Regards, Alistair Lobo
