export ProConcrete to IFC with an extra data

Thanks for posting this query in Bentley Community Forum.

Sending via Assignment fields is good idea, but currently we are not exporting all the Assignments field in IFC except Description and Part family (which are available in U5).

But for your information, we are working on this to export all the properties including EED's to IFC and for that you need to wait till Update 5.2 release. Hope I have answered you fully. Do let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for information. I’m using ProStructures update 5, but I haven’t found neither Description nor Part family records inside exported IFC. Should I map these records somehow, inside IfcElementAssembly.att and IfcReinforcingBar.att files?

I have installed the latest PS issue (update 5, version 10.05.01.11) but Description and Part family records are not exported to IFC file for default/standard program settings. Is it necessary to modify *.att files to make export of these records possible (which one, how), or there is other way to achieve this? I mean Description and Part family records exoported to IFC file.

I really appreciate that you have installed the new version that is Update 5.1. As I previously conveyed earlier, that all the PS Properties to be exported in IFC, but that is kept for next release that is Update 5.2 which is expected to be there very soon, might be in early March this year.

But to inform you in this latest update, we are exporting Part Family and Description only. Below is an image of IFC Properties which I am getting 

But I can say in next update you will get almost all the properties

All the classification (Area class, Display Class, Part Family)
Group Properties
EED Properties

It looks like a ProSteel example. The point is "Description" field is not exported within "Element Specific" group when IFC file is created from ProConcrete (neither for Bar Group nor Single bar) - see figures 1 and 2 in pdf file attached.

Analyzing the attached picture I found the file Shape.att file where the property set Pset_Quantities_Structural_Shape is being defined. After that I have modified IfcReinforcingBar.att and IfcElementAssembly.att files adding a few extra lines to Class members and property set Pset_iRebarIdentifiers using the Shape.att syntax. But it doesn’t work – IFC content is not extended with Description and PartFamily. Where did I go wrong? See pdf second page.

Is it possible to add custom property set to *.att file? Where the variable names used for IFC mapping, e.g. LgthTheorStr, BarMark, ShpNameID, KS_FAMILYCLASS, KS_DESCRIPTION (with description) can be found?

What about the data group called Pset_iRebarIdentifiers? Is there any way to use LabelGroup field, I mean define the field content "inside" Proconcrete.

From what I am seeing you did the right thing when adding it to the Pset_iRebarIdentifiers, but we have to check how it is implemented for Rebar and what is possible currently.
