How to create user-defined cell to insert it in panel by 'Panel Insert' command?

Hello colleagues

When I create a concrete panel, I can add an insert.

If I want to add cell, I press this button.

After that, I can choose .dgn file to add it to my panel. But If I just create a file with only 1 plate in it and select it as a cell, nothing happens.

So I'd like to know, how to create file, which will correctly perceive by the program?

  • Hello Руан Мистяков,

Thanks for posting this query in Bentley Community Forum.

First of all the path mentioned is incorrect which you can navigate to the correct location by clicking on the Cell Tab. Now there are two things like

    1. If you want to insert the cell already delivered with application, just click on the Cell tab and this will redirect to the location where the cells exist. usually those are located at "C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Default\appl\PanelInserts\Metric" and from there you can choose one.
    .

    2. If you want to create your own cell, then you can create here. While creating you need to take care to make ACS to be center. You can also open any one of the cell provided with the application and can modify.

Hope this will help you to get your needed result. If not then do let us know.

We are pleased to announce that ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 5 (10.05.00.54) is now available on Software Downloads and for update through the CONNECTION Client. What`s New Highlights ProStructures…

  • The problem is in creating my own cell.

First of all, I created my own cell ('plate apply'), which contains 1 plate (100x100) and 4 steel shapes.

After that, I placed it in correct folder.

Then, I created a wall panel in new file, and added '100x100 weld plate' as panel inserts.

And after that, I changed inserts to my cell, and that happened:

Looks like wall "swallowed" my inserts, but there is 1 moment:

Wall did not "swallow" parts, that went beyond the boundaries of the wall.

So my question remains the same: how to create this cell correctly?

    Files attached.

    plate apply.dgn
