Hello,
After cutting sections in my 3D model I noticed that once the 2D model is created I am getting circles on all my bent bars.
Please see the attached photo of my 2D rebar model.
Is there a way to turn these circles off in the drawing file or .sys file so that we do not have to show them? If we can't turn them off is it possible to minimize the size of them?
Thanks
Hi Jeff, Thanks for posting your query over the Bentley Technical Support. In reference to your issue, have you tried hiding those rebars (the circles that appear) using the Hide Bar tool.
We believe this should resolve your issue. Please let us know if this helps you or else we can assist you further on this. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Hi Alistair,
I tried this tool but it turns off the rebar as well.
In my case I still need to show these bars but without the circles.
I have attached the photo with some arrows pointing the the circles.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for attaching this screenshot. It really helped us get clear. I have checked for the file. I believe you can set up the side of those dot bars (longitudinal bars) if that helps you. You can follow the below Wiki for this -
So it seems like the program put circles on every bar bend. One of those shapes is a stirrup bar and the other is a straight bar with a 180 degree hook. Is the programing treating these as longitudinal bars?
We would usually not show the bends or circles in this type of view since the rebar is shown as a line and not full size.
is it possible to disable the EDOT and HDIA in the display.sys file as our practice for our final sheets
is to show just a line to represent any bar type. Having these circles at each end of any bent bars just makes the drawing congested.

Hi Nicole and Jeff, If you want the bend sections of the bars (circles / dots) to be disabled, you could set the MDOT variable in the display.sys file to 0. This will then not create those circled in your section views. Just like in the picture below - However, these dots would then be disabled for all the DGN files / models across the respective WorkSpace. Please confirm if that id okay for you. This worked perfectly, thanks!
