Enable ProStructures Snaps in training PDF and onboarding video

Question

Hi, 
 I am going through the ProStructures CE training PDF from the Learn Server and need some clarification on page 8. It's a really basic thing I am stuck on. 
 On page 8 its says to Enable ProS Snaps in order to snap t o the edges of the beams . I set the K snap divider to 2, but it only snapped to the center of the column , and I cannot achieve the required connection which has beams flush with the column. 
 Then while watching the Onboarding video 09-Basic Concrete Modelling (Beam/ Column/Pad Footing/Slab) I noticed that the presenters Enable ProS Snaps is off? This is not even mentioned in the video. 
 
 I would like some confirmation of why the PDF method did not work, and please correct me. 
 Also which placement method was used on page 8? Insert shape by 2 points? 
 When SHOULD Enable ProStructures Snaps be used? Only on steelwork, workframes etc?

Hi Robert, Thank you for posting your query over Bentley Community Forum. The ProStructures Snaps will help you to snap the important points of the shape. Please refer the image below for better understanding. As image shows the If the ProStructures Snaps are turned on then users can easily access these snap points for steel shapes which are usually necessary while modelling. In case of Concrete modelling if you have simple shapes you may not require the ProStructures Snaps because in that case you can work with Normal Snaps as well. Yes, in PDF the method used is insert shapes by two points. I will also suggest you to use same method if you have beams flush into columns. Please let me know if you have any other concerns.
