Hello, when the CE of Prostructures will be out in general access? I read that it will happen at december but still nothing.

Hi Johannes,

Hopefully, Product Management will look at building on the ideas and promise of Parametric Content Modeler mentioned back in BE 2012.

We have heard that a lot of the tools behind PCM were integrated into Mstn CE's Functional Components tools. But, with Aecosim, we have still to see a fully fledged tool that would be able to replace ABD's Parametric Cell Studio. OpenBridge seems to have something that would be close, but seems pretty limited and aimed at adjusting the FunctionalComponent just before it is placed. not a general authoring tool.

As outlined on this BE 2013 slide

"An Integrated Content Modeling Environment"

"Create, import, assemble, persist and manipulate 3D parametric content"

"Import and reuse content from Trimble 3D Warehouse, Autodesk SEEK and Siemens Team Center"

"Unify and replace existing toolsets with standard MicroStation tools."

"Integrated with Bentley CONNECT Content Management System"

... are still key goals that are still outstanding.... 4+ years down the line.

In Connect edition there will be self definable parametric elements you can reuse and build up for your needs. Also there is the Component Center Catalog which is already available for Connect Edition products. How this functions in detail will be provided in the future in ProStructure is to be seen. I have forwarded your request to Product management.
