Hi,
I am trying to create a report showing the assembly member/number with the respective parts/fittings. When I select a construction group list, run the report, the assembly shows the quantity correct but the parts listed only lists for only one assembly/group. Please refer to the screenshot below, GR17, we have 2 of this, but the fittings/parts listed is only for one assembly/group. How do we make those parts'quantity be listed as a total for the total number of assembly/groups.
Hello Brian Samson,
Thanks for posting your query in Bentley community Forum.
The list you shared as snapshot will provide you the listing of single parts quantity with other information per Group. but if you need the total Single Parts list then you can check the lst file "BEN_Singleparts__V.lst". For your easy access attached is the lst file. https://communities.bentley.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/275893/BEN_5F00_Singleparts_5F005F00_V.lstI hope this will serve your requirement. If not then please share one example so that we can work on that.

Thanks Sandip,
But that single parts is not what we are after. We've also tried it out (single parts) and yes, it does give the total number of parts but for the entire model. We'd like to have the total parts for each assembly listed on a report. something similar to the bill of materials in a shop drawing. It does not look right to see 2 or more quantity for an assembly then the list of parts listed is only for 1 assembly. Do we have a way around for this? thanks.
Hi Brian,
I am not getting your requirement. As far as I understood you want to list single parts exist in one group. If so then, your provided list is giving the result. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Otherwise we need one example file from you.
Hi Sandip,
This is the out of the box list. Please have a look at this list. The assembly/group quantity is 2. The parts listed is only for one assembly/group.
We'd like the list to show the quantity to match what is required for the assembly/quantity.
Hope this clarifies our query.
Now it is clear to us. We will try to achieve this and then will come back to you.
This may help. When we were in ProSteel-ACAD, if we edit the partlist DataLine like this
Str$(COUNT*GROUP.MUL,4)
we were able to get the result as shown in the previous screenshot I've provided.
But now, this does not work in ProSteel+Microstation.
Probably something was changed with the Group.Mul filed/variable.
Please advise.
Our colleague provided a Gouplist with Header.
It has a changed Group header with a Group sum.
Please give a feedback if it works for you.

Hi Johannes,
This only worked when 2 or more assemblies of the same mark selected. But when we have different assemblies with multiple quantity, only the assembly quantity is correct but the parts quantity is incorrect. Like in the example below, for assembly 22, the parts quantity should only be 4 & 2 instead of 8 & 4 respectively.
Also, can we get an answer to this : previously if we used this Str$(COUNT*GROUP.MUL,4) in ProSteel+Acad it worked, but now it doesn't in ProSteel+Microstation. What has happened to that Group.Mul variable?
Hi Sandip/Johannes,
Don't worry about this issue anymore, I've got it to work as we require.
But please note that the BEN_Groups_modified_V.LST is not correct. per above.
Hi Johannes/Sandip,
Sorry, my bad, for the moment I thought we got it. But after several tests, noticed the list is giving out total number of parts within the entire model instead of just a total for the respective assemblies/groups.
Creating a SumVariable with properties Partlist.Count does not work.
Using the TOTALNUM variable does not work.
Before, Str$(COUNT*GROUP.MUL,4) worked.
Question. If the GROUP.MUL no longer works, what would be the replacement for this variable?
You are right. It is not working as per the requirement. And even the older variable which you mentioned, that also not working. We need to further investigate and may be should file an Enhancement.
We will notify you whatever solution we achieve.
Thank you for your cooperation.
