HI,My company has recently had a beam line installed. One of the main functions we want to perform is the scribing of all attached parts. This feature is working great for parts that don't fall within what the machine calls the "Restricted Zone".The restricted zone is a limit set within the machines parameters to prevent the tool head clashing with the material flanges/machine clamps.Tekla & Advance steel both have a function within their NC output to only write scribe data from a given edge distance. Does prosteel have anything similar?I don't want any scribing to be less than 30mm from the edge of steel, or from inside the flanges.I have a workaround for the web of beams/channels where I have increased the internal radius of the member to 30mm, this stops prosteel writing the scribe past the start of the radius. This workaround isn't ideal, and does not help me with scribing on the flanges.I am working in V8i S8 Version 08.11.14.238
Hi Andrew, Thanks for posting your query over the Bentley Communities Forum. We will check on this issue and update you soon. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Hi Alistair,Have you been able to look into this scribe issue?Cheers,Andrew
Hi Andrew,
what sort of beamline do you have?
We have a Ficep. The scribing zone is controlled by the machine itself in the scribing macro. Basically the machine just doesn't go into the flange zone and ignores any marks that go "outside the lines"
