Hi guys,
When we create a Partlist Database, this usually gives as a Partlist error Log file telling us that there are duplicated marks or something like
"At least two different objects (Part1=250UC89-SP=6507965079, Part2=250UC89-SP=6507965079) with equal position number A1 found!Reason: Length difference too large: Part1=1320.548218, Part2=665.101196"
But, we have a case where we have accidentally gave a plate the same mark/positioning where in fact the holes are at a different location, when we create the partlist database, we are not getting an error log file - please refer to the attached PDF.
Is there a setting we just need to tweak so this example is detected as a duplicate or can be detected with error? Compare Parts works only when you already know which ones to compare but we need something to just select the entire model to get the comparison or duplication error like that LOG file error in partlist when creating the partlist database. Please advise. thanks

Hello Brian, Thanks for posting your query over the Bentley Communities Forum. With reference to your issue, we have have tried replicating the same on our end and did not encounter any error. Thus, can you please share your contact details and time of availability so that we can have a screen sharing session and help you resolve the issue. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Hi Alistair,
When you say "did not encounter an error", do you mean that you created the plates per my PDF sample and when you created the Partlist database you did not receive an error message? Can you please elaborate? Thanks
Hi Brian,
I think this depends on what version.
In the CE version from at least S4 the hole coordinates & diameters are written into the MDB file, in older versions they are not, only a count of holes. So it would tell you if there were more of less holes, but not if the holes are in different locations.
From CE version onward it also has a part-list error checking, so it will check for parity during part-list creation, not just at the part numbering step, you have to turn it on though

Hi Mike,
Thanks for this. Can you please lead me to that setting that I need to turn on? (CE it is? ) T.I.A.
Hi Brian, You can check on the 'Check if parts with equal position number are equal' in the Position Number Checks section while creating a Partlist in ProStructures CONNECT Edition. Can you please also confirm your contact details so that we can discuss this over a call and assist you in more detail. Regards, Alistair Lobo
Thanks Alistair. This must be the latest update which we have not done yet, my bad. Thanks again.
