Hi,
I have recently been asked to create .stp files for some pipe work that needs to be processed by the suppliers. Has anyone had any success with doing this? Is there any resource I can refer to online?
Cheers

Hi Daff,
Yes, we have customers who created Step files for reading into Robotic Laser cutting machines.
you can create Step files following this Wiki:

Our processing supplier had requested individual step files for each single pipe to be processed so I have come up with the following workflow;
1, Use Express to create a single part drawing as normal however with settings changed to create a single view with no dimensions, shortening, position flags or title block, completely empty except for a single view of the part (ensure "As true 2D lines" not checked in detail style)
2, Batch create native solid drawing on all files
3, Using batch converter convert all DGN's to STP files
3, email to supplier
I've found this workflow to be very efficient and effective.
Hi Andrew,
I think it is a good trick and smart to publish individual STP files.

Johannes,
Will this work for AutoCAD version?
