How to submit ideas for ProStructures

Got an idea for how to improve ProStructures? Share it with us. Or vote on other people's ideas.

We created a portal for you to share and vote on ideas to improve ProStructures. Our team will review these ideas during product planning discussions. While we can’t guarantee specific features or timelines, we will keep the idea status updated (i.e. Planned, for Future consideration). We may also merge and rename ideas for clarity purposes. Once you have voted on an idea you will receive email notifications when the idea's status changes.

Once the ProStructures Ideas Portal is opened you can perform the following actions:

  1. Log in / Sign up to the Ideas Portal so that we can better communicate with you about the ideas you submit.
  2. Search existing ideas by entering search terms in the Search all ideas… You can also filter the ideas by selecting desired discipline you are interested in by selecting it in the FILTER BY CATEGORY section.
  3. Vote for ideas you like by clicking the VOTE button next to the idea.
  4. Create a new idea of your own by selecting the + ADD A NEW IDEAThe Add idea form will be displayed and you will be prompted for the following information:
    1. Enter a one-sentence summary of your idea in the Your idea Similar ideas will appear below as you type. Consider voting for them before you create a new idea.
    2. Describe how your idea should work, why it would be useful, and who would benefit from it in the Please add more details text area. If you have any attachments such as conceptual images or anything, attach them too by clicking on Attach files.
    3. Select the category that you think the idea can be a part of Choose a category for this idea picklist.
    4. Select the best entry from the How frequently will feature be used pick list to indicate how often you would expect you or others in your organization to utilize this idea.
    5. Select the best entry for How much time will you save? To indicate how much time this idea will save you (during your workflows), i.e. 2 hours per week.
    6. Describe what kind of time savings you might expect to gain from this idea in the How much time will you save.
    7. Select the best entry from the Your Industry pick list to indicate your primary industry or the most applicable industry for the idea.
    8. If you selected "Other" for the industry enter the name of the sector in the Other Industry.
    9. Select ADD IDEA to add the new idea.

Bentley’s product management team will review ideas regularly and classify them according to the following statuses:

  • Needs review – The idea has been created, and it is ready to be voted on. This is the default status for new ideas;
  • Future consideration – The idea has been reviewed and is now in consideration for future development. Continue to vote and comment to bring the best ideas to the top;
  • Already exists – We believe the idea proposed is already covered by ProStructures applications. We will strive to share with you as much information about it as possible in the comments section;
  • Planned – The idea has been reviewed and is now being worked on. We will keep you posted about potential release;
  • Will not implement – We won’t be able to implement this idea and will strive to give you as much information about it as possible in the comments section;
  • Shipped – The idea has been implemented in a ProStructures release.
