My question/query is somehow related to Tekla which I am not familiar with. Can anyone please provide advice on this "Is it possible for Pro-Steel to separate each phase into lots? (i.e our fabrication and erection priorities?)". Thanks.
Thanks for posting your query in Bentley Community Forum.
You can assign that particular level or phase to Area Class and then by filtering that Area Class you can do further work.
Let me collect more information if this is not sufficient.

Thanks for the prompt reply. With the Area Class, I understand this can be exported along when an *.mdb file is created. But if we export a ProSteel v8i model to an IFC format, does the area class go with the IFC format? or would this work when we open the exported ProSteel model in BIM-Review. Apologies but I just don't know how this phase/lots works when it comes to exporting ProSteel model then going to this BIM-Review thing (*.bswx file). Again, my apologies if this is not the correct place to be asking this question but as I am coming in from ProSteel, just asking with fingers crossed.
just wanted to check about IFC format export from ProStructures. We have the Connect Edition Update 2 but we still can not see the area class or display class when we open the IFC file in BIM-review. Also, the section/size of the steel not appear - refer below from BIM-Review. We have also noticed the Group Position Number or member mark is not being listed in the IFC file - only the shaft mark or Position Number. Can we please be advised on when the update for the IFC format will be released. Almost everyone is now using Strumis / BIM but unfortunately, the current Connect Edition does not provide enough model information in the IFC file. . . Sad to say but we were told Tekla does this. . .
I second that..
Development manager had a call with Strumis, we are working on that. In the Shape.att file one can edit it, so the Section size Name appears. Drive:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT EditionUx\ProStructures\Default\appl\Exchange\IFC
CLASS_MEMBERS Name = KS_NAME Description = KS_DESCRIPTION ObjectType = KS_OBJECTTYPE
The Groups Pos is under groups which BIM Review does not use. We are working on that as same as the other topics.

We appreciate your reply. Our clients using the ifc model want the data which would usually be the Group Pos number which would match the erection or Marking plan assembly mark.
The frustrating thing is this problem and similar with the BSWX plugin for Strumis, etc, etc, it never seems to get fixed. We have a lot of our clients requesting that the Tekla is used and not ProSteel due to these problems.
When will this and the other items be fixed?
As said we are working on the issues, fixes will come in the coming next _Update Number5 likely.
