Hi All,I've been using prostructures for a couple of years now and am overall extremely happy with the product. One thing that I have always wanted to achieve but never know where to start is how to go about writting my own macros or custom connections. Can anyone at Bentley point me in the right direction?
Hello Andrew Parker,
Thanks for posting your query in Bentley Community Forum.
Can you please tell us which version of ProStructures you are using? Also can you please share one example of your connection ?
We will investigate and will let you know.

Hi Sandip,
i don’t really have any specific connections in mind at the moment. I’m more looking into this from a hobby point of view.
To begin with Id like to add some additional functionality to the existing connections, for example adding an option to include a root gap for welding columns to base plates.
If I can achieve this and understand how it all works (big if) I’d like to start rewritting connections completely.
I understand that this is certainly no easy task, but I am interested in the challenge.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
This is the Code for the Plate funnel Connection, you can use to understand the build up of a Connection.
In our CE edition of ProStructures you find Example code for a stiffener Distribution and for the Corbel connection in ProConcrete.
Here additionally the Code documentation for .Net Series6
And the Code documentation for Series 8
