Why connections like bean/beam stiffener, connection center, substation gallery do not work.

Will it have to do with workspace or work group?

Only for those specific ones.
It was nice meeting over the Team Viewer and found that the dialog box was getting display off which can be fixed by deleting the .sve files. For detail can refer the following Wiki Link.
In most cases when you are getting Dialog box off screen, this solution will fix the issue.
