1. Can you someone please explain what the following message shown below is when creating a KISS file?
Comment:
This is the material name you used while placing the member. You can map other material from the mapping table by clicking the third button from left.
2. Also what are the letters highlighted in the KISS file shown below referring to?
These are nothing but Shape prefix, like here W means W Shape, FB means Flat Bar, L means Angle. These are coming from the Shape table.

Hi Sandip,
Can the shape prefix be modified in anyway?
Eg. I want W to be replaced with UB?
Further to my question above are you able to also answer the following:
1. What data should be appearing between the commas where the red dots is shown below?
2. What is driving the field where NONE is highlighted below?
I have a client that is wanting to use a KISS file from Prosteel in FabSuite but is having a few issues. Has anyone been successful with supplying KISS files for FabSuite?
Please find below our comments.
These are dedicated for Drawing No and Drawing revision ref.
If there is any note then there will reflect that.
In your last query, the highlighted one at the end "None " is coming from the part Description field.
When your description field is selected one suitable description one, you will find that in KISS file output
Can a drawing number and revision be manually entered for a part within the model? I need to populate this info in the KISS file.

Daff
Drawing No and Revision no can be controlled via Drawing Information Table either via Automatic process when you generate drawings through DC Express or you can put manually in Drawing Information table.
In DC Express this can be read by FRM file, otherwise you need to put manually.
When you say manually enter it are you referring to just manually changing the KISS file via the windows note book program?
When you enter the value in Drawing Information Table, it will be automatically printed in KISS file. No need to open the generated kiss file in notepad and do put the values manually in that.
Sandip,
Where within the model are the drawing numbers assigned? Is it in the properties of the main part?
I don't use DC to output my assembly drawings as i do this manually. Can i assign my drawing numbers manually?
Andrew
Any chance you can answer my last question above?
