I downloaded the latest object enablers but can't seem to find a version of Navisworks in which they function, though I found this handy reference from Sandip. https://communities.bentley.com/products/prostructures/w/structural_drafting_and_detailing__wiki/39238/prostructures-v8i-connect-object-enabler-plug-in-for-autocad-and-other-applications.
What version of Navisworks are we expected to use with ProSteel Object Enabler x64 10.00.00.04?
Otherwise, within Navisworks, how can we passively view ProSteel objects drawn in ProSteel 10.00.00.08 for AutoCAD 2019? We waited through many delays for ProSteel to come out that works on AutoCAD 2019, and now we are still using old versions of everything because it seems like this key component is missing. We need to be able to passively view our ProSteel models in Navisworks as we have in the past.
Is this an oversight, or is there no plan to release object enablers that work with a modern version of Navisworks?
Edit: We are now able to view objects (using Navisworks 2019) generated in ProSteel 10.0.0.08 and AutoPLANT 10.0.0.36, using PS OE 10.0.0.04 and AP OE 10.0.0.28. A previous test of these same softwares yielded different results and so we will have to test this on more machines before rollout.
Thank You,
Jonathan
Reinstalling the OE's worked this time and allowed me to view objects created in the latest ProSteel (10.00.00.08) and the latest AutoPLANT (10.0.0.36). This is good news because it can work, apparently without registry tweaks. It is also bad because we performed the same tests (including reinstalling these OE's) with these same versions of the software and gotten different results. I'm hoping that was a fluke and that future installations will all work well, but I'm concerned we will have this issue again and won't be able to determine why. In any case we can proceed with testing on other workstations and go from there. Thanks again.
Hi Jonathan,
Are you able to view part metadata in Naviswoks?
cheers
another interesting way would be to use I-models in Navisworks 2020 See:
In AutoPlant Forum
Turns out if you use Navisworks 2020 and turn on the Beta File loader option, you don’t need to do anything else(not even the Data link exercise) and you can see all the properties there. Please note that its still in Beta version and will be included as a feature in next releases as per AutoDesk
