Custom Shape Management for Reinforcement (NYSDOT)

PDF

I need to add custom reinforcement shapes to my model so they can be recognized in my bar schedule. I am currently running ACI (Imperial) Code but I need add additional rebar shapes for NYSDOT (see attached). How do I add these additional rebar shapes to a custom .RSF library? As you can see NYSDOT uses additional shapes on top of ACI's. I need to add N1-N23.

  • You can easily add or write the shape in RSF file. For this follow the below steps.

    1. Model or place the rebar in the 3D model.
    2. After successful modeling, do positioning
    3. While in positioning stage, whatever shape is not available will come in Positioning result as "***"
    4. Double click on that unknown shape and one new dialog box will open up for managing the shape.
    5. There you can manage the shape and can give your needed name.
    6. After this this bar shape will be written in your RSF file.
