Overview
This wiki explains how to create a new design (dgn) file in ProStructures (ProSteel) CONNECT Edition. When creating a new dgn file it is important to start with the correct seed file.
Steps to be follow
Please follow the below steps to achieve this.
1. Select your required WorkSpace and WorkSet.
2. From the Work page, click New File button to create a new DGN file.
3. In the dialog New, at the very bottom should be a preset seed file, if this is not the case then use Browse and look for a seed file.
From the Select Seed File dialog box, we need to select a required default seed file.
Below is the default path for the seed files:
C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Default\Seed\applMetric
4. Now you need to enter a file name and click on the Save button, the new dgn file will be opened.
NOTE: In general every ProSteel drawing, also workshop drawings, needs a 3D seed file. It is recommended to use the ProSteel seed files as they contain already of certain dimension styles, text styles and other things important for later creation of workshop drawings.
