    Overview

This document will explain how we can assign different types of part name according to Display Group in Object Display in Detail Style. Also this will explain how to adjust the location of label in the element in 2D drawing views.

    Method

In Views > Object Display window we can create Display groups of Elements used in model to represent as per their detailing standard in 2D drawing. Here also in Part name section we can define waht would be the part name type, how the name should place against that element. In Part name section there are two fields to assign Part name and adjustment.

    1. First part name field have the options, where to place the label in element in 2D drawing.

Below please find the explanation what does all these option actually represent.

    • No display – No labeling text is represented.
    • Start of Part – The text is represented above the part at the start of the part.
    • First Section of Part – The text is represented above the part in the front area.
    • Part Mid – The text is represented above the part in the middle.
    • End of Part – The text is represented above the part at the end of the part.
    • Next to Part – The text is represented on the right side of the part.
    • Inside Part (Mid) – The text is represented inside the part in the middle.
    • Inside Part (First Section) – The text is represented inside the part in the front area.
    • Downside of Part – The text is represented below the part in the middle.
    • Rotated next to Part – The text is represented on the right side above the part at a 45° angle.

    2. Second Part name field represent the additional information that is to be displayed in the label text.

Below please find the explanation what additional information we can show related to that element.

    • Name – The part name will be displayed.
    • Short Name – The short name of the part (from profile data base, if any) is displayed. Otherwise the name is displayed.
    • Position Number – This will display the Position Number.
    • Shipping Number – This will display the Shipping Number.
    • Name and Elevation – The short name of the part and the relative position of the component to the representation plane will be displayed.
    • Short Name and Elevation – The part name and the relative position of the part to the view plane are given.
    • Global format string (Detail Style) – The text is given according to the format specification of the detail style. This specification may contain placeholders for the current part data.
    • Individual format string (Note2) – The text is given according to the format specification of the part (Entry "Note 2"). This specification can contain placeholders for the current part.
    • Individual or global format string – The text is given according to both format specifications. If no entry is available in the part (individual specification) the format specification of the detail style (global specification) is used.

Some of the examples are given below:

    1. Part name as Name (Profile) and placed at top middle

    2. Part name as Short name and placed at First Section of part

    3. Part name as Position No an placed at First Section of Part
