    Overview

The Plate Platform (Plate Dispatch) helps to create a platform by dispatching a series of sheet plates over existing set of structural beams that form a closed region. The platform can be fully controlled in terms of grid insertion, rotation, hole & bolts control & alignment.

This document will guide you on how to create plate platforms with holes drilled & bolts inserted.

    Method

    1) Create a set of structural set of beams to form a closed region. (like in the picture below)

    2) Then navigate to Steel > Home > Structural Objects > Plate Platform.

    3) The Plate Dispatch dialog box opens with the Main tab open, this will the prompt you to select the beams in 2 sets viz. Set A & Set B for further dispatch of plates.

    4) On selecting the set of beams, you can then click on the Update button to load the platform in your model.

    5) In the Plates tab, you can edit various plate parameters, choose to display the plates as grids, assign material, description, Level, Area Class, Part Family & set the offset dimensions for platform plates on Set A & Set B beams.

    6) In the Drilling/Bolting tab, you can set the hole & bolts diameter and alignment parameters.

    7) After, setting the required parameters, clock OK. The platform is then created, and you can also add Handrails to that platform by defining a guide line (Poly Line) and using the Handrail command.

In this manner, one can create a platform with already existing set of beams in combination with handrails.
