    AutoPLANT Structural Detailer

    Overview

Bentley AutoPLANT Structural Detailer is a complete structural solution. It includes all the features of AutoPLANT Structural Modeler and AutoPLANT Structural Engineering, plus the ability to automatically generate the following directly from the model:

    • Fabrication drawings
    • NC (Numerically Controlled) data
    • PPS/ERP (Project, Planning, and Control System / Enterprise Resource Planning)

Data gathered from the model can be used for further processing with the post-processor of your NC machine or your company's PPS/ERP program.

    Features

    Drawing Flattener

Many companies require the ability to produce editable 2D drawings derived from 3D models-a common 3D design problem. Drawing Flattener converts plans and sections created using AutoPLANT Structural Detailer into 2D AutoCAD drawings. The resulting drawings are compact and can be indistinguishable from manually drafted CAD drawings; hidden lines are removed and all annotation and dimensions remain as they were in the original paper-space rendition.

Drawing Flattener can convert multiple drawings and the system provides several configuration options to tailor the output.

    Output NC Data

For users who desire NC (Numerically Controlled) control data output, AutoPLANT Structural Detailer can export this according to DSTV conventions. The geometry data of Structural Detailer is imported directly from the 3D model and saved in project-related directories according to position number. Further processing and direct access of the NC machine is then carried out using post-processors of the respective machine manufacturers.

    Single Part Detailing

With Structural Detailer, you can automatically generate single part details from a 3D model.

Perform detailing functions from Structural Detailer's Detail Center. The Detail Center provides you with a "drag-and-drop" creation process: simply select an individual member from the parts tree and drag it into the AutoCAD drawing window. Structural Detailer then automatically generates the appropriate detail in the drawing for that member.

    Output PPS/ERP Data

Many construction projects require information exchanges with PPS (Project, Planning, and Control System) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. Once a parts list has been created in AutoPLANT Structural Detailer, this list can then be exported to a PPS/ERP system.

     Unfold/Unwind Pipes

The unfold pipes command provides a mechanism to unwind/unfold a pipe with cut-outs and insert the result into the active UCS (user coordinate system). For example, after exiting the dialog, you simply click on the tube or pipe that is to be unwound or developed and select the desired operation. The tube or pipe can be positioned freely in the model and further process can be performed if desired.
